Key notes

1Put the sun behind the subject first; the reflector should shape the face, not fight direct sun in the eyes.
2Feather the reflector upward from below chest level until the catchlight appears without making the face look underlit.
3Gold bounce is flattering at sunset but can go orange fast; use white when skin tone needs to stay neutral.
4Watch the background exposure separately: the rim can clip before the face looks bright enough.
