Key notes

1Place the softbox ~45° camera-left and grid it so skin stays directional without flooding the gels.
2Magenta gel from camera-left rear paints the left background and kisses hair/shoulder on that side; teal from camera-right rear does the opposite side.
3Keep the subject away from the background so the gels read as environment, not a stain on the jacket.
4If the face goes fully magenta/teal, pull the gels farther off the subject or flag them — the soft key should still read on the front of the face.
