Soft Dramatic
Larger modifier, closer to subject, smoother shadows, elegant look.

Cinematic Rim
Add rim light for separation and a cinematic edge.
Final look

Base setup
A single keyed source at 45° sculpts the face with a smooth, continuous falloff down the shadow side rather than a broken-up pattern, negative fill on the opposite side deepens the shadow into the jaw, and an optional rim separates the subject from a dark background — together producing depth without flattening the form.

Key notes
- 1Feather the light: aim the softbox slightly in front of the subject.
- 2Keep the background dark and the subject away from it.
- 3Negative fill is the secret to depth.
- 4Less light = more mood.
